Successful Plein Air Event at Moon Lake

ISCCW and Iron Co Lakes & Streams Partnership has collaborated with LOLA (Land O’Lakes Arts) to provide a plein air (outdoor) oil painting workshop for ten very interested participants. The event took place on Tuesday, August 17th from 8:00 am to Noon at the Moon Lake boat landing. Easels, paint, brushes, and canvas were provided for each participant. With the instruction of McCall Hocking, each budding artist chose a shoreline spot from which to paint. The partnership between LOLA, ISCCW and ICL&SP endeavors to promote art experiences for local and visiting residents, as well as providing an educational opportunity to discuss and share information regarding the preservation of lakes and shorelines, as well as the effects of invasive species in our area.

A second shoreline painting event will be held in Iron River, Michigan, on September 17th on Sunset Lake, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. More information can be found on lolaartswi.com.
