Public Hearing Notice (Rescheduled until June 22nd at 6:30 p.m.)

This meeting was originally scheduled for June 15, 2022, however due to possible severe weather it has been rescheduled.

As you may already be aware, Watersmeet Township has scheduled a Public Hearing on Wednesday, June 15 22nd at 6:30 p.m. to gather comments and consider modifications to the Township Zoning Ordinance.

We feel the proposed changes may impact all lakefront properties in Watersmeet Township.  They include:

  • Allowing trailer coaches to be used as dwellings on all L-1 and L-2 properties.
  • Allowing trailer coaches to be used as dwellings during home construction for up to 60 months (5 years), rather than the current 12 moths (1 year).
  • Modifying minimum side lot line requirements for both L-1 and L-2 properties.

Both current and proposed zoning language are included in the posting of the Notice of Hearing on the Township website, and highlighted, for your review.
